Crafty Folk |
 |
This group was formed in 1998 to encourage church members to
give of their talents and to further their crafting skills. It has
proved to be one of the most enthusiastic groups ever. We are
twelve to fourteen members and meet
weekly from February to

November in the church.
We mount a large display of our work at the annual church Martinmas
Fair. The work is very varied, but the central display is always a
Christmas one, with beautiful hand quilted Christmas stockings,
cushions, three dimensional Christmas nativity scenes, large
Christmas
wall and door hangings, advent calendars and many more items. We also
have lovely embroidered items, household goods and beautifully crafted
toys. Together with the hand made greeting cards and the skilful glass
painting, we have an eye catching display. Some of our work can also be
found in the Church shop during the open season.
Although we give a sizeable money contribution to the Church and to
local charities, we like to feel we can give practical assistance to
others e.g. making the costumes for the Sunday School children for their
nativity plays etc.
We love our craft work, but even more, we enjoy the fun, the laughter
and the fellowship. If anyone would like to visit us, enjoy a chat and a
cup of tea and see what we do, we will make you very welcome.
